Testimonials

"You’ll find many martial arts programs in New York, but you’ll be hard pressed to find one as exemplary as T. Kang Taekwondo. The do-jang is warm and welcoming and strikes the perfect balance of athletics, discipline and respect. The instructors model the behavior they expect, and in turn the students work hard to follow their good example. My children are always eager to go to class. In their words, 'T. Kang Taekwondo is AWESOME!'" - Tamara Downey
"T. Kang Tae Kwon Do has been the best thing I've done for my focus, discpline, skill, endurance and strength - both physically and mentally. Grandmaster T. Kang and his instructors are great examples of how martial arts can improve everyone's life. They care and show respect for each individual and their enthusiasm makes demanding workouts and lessons a joy. I look forward to going to the do-jang every chance I get." - Lynn Berg
"Life got better when I started training at T. Kang. This is the school you're looking for. Excellent instructors, atmosphere of respect, beautiful facilities. All belt levels train together, and after the first few weeks you are already sparring and breaking boards. This is like taking a confidence pill. Plus you get complete workout training including not only the traditional techniques classes but also cardio, stretch, weight training and heavy bag workouts, so you don't have to go to the gym. The do-jang is better than a gym! because you have constant instruction and you learn focus, discipline, balance, power. Do yourself a favor and sign up." - Scott Shepherd
"My 11 year old son & I began studying with Grand Master Kang about 2 and a half years ago. My initial thought was to get the boy interested and then I would bow out (no pun intended). Rather than leave, I find myself immersed in a program that combines physical, mental and ethical training that has challanged and rewarded us with skills, strength, stamina and a better focus on our lives. There is a disiplined yet family-like atmosphere at T. Kang Taekwondo, which is a reflection of Grand Master Kang's intellegent & thoughtful approach to life. The staff is a rare combination of skillful, dedicated and friendly people whose enthusiasm for the instruction they offer is infectious. Come and join us." - Vincent Lepre
"I first came to T. Kang Taekwondo to supplement classes I was taking at a different school, one where I loved the strenuous workouts but felt I was not getting enough 'basics.' I was immediately impressed by the clean and tasteful atmosphere and the excellent facilities, and Grandmaster Kang made me feel welcome and very much at home. Over the following year, Grandmaster Kang worked miracles with me because he really knows how to teach. Not only is he an extemely impressive practitioner - with clean and explosive movements that are a pleasure to observe and invaluable as a model to look up to - but he has really honed his didactics over decades of guiding clumsy and inflexible people like me towards becoming black belts. I eventually joined the school full time, and really enjoy the upbeat, friendly, and low pressure environment, where there is mutual respect without head games or politics. The school is extremely well-organized and offers a great variety of classes. Some are purely for physical development - strength, flexibility, and cardio - in one facility. Grandmaster Kang's dedication to the art and to his school is nothing short of phenomenal, and he manages to make every student feel like he or she is his favorite; you can tell that he really cares about you and about what he does. And the old saying that a river is only as good as its source is borne out by the excellent instructors who teach those classes that are not taught by Grandmaster Kang himself. They are uniformly superb, experienced, and kind, with excellent didactics. I have learned much from each of them. For what it's worth, I consider this a superb school for all levels and ages. It is superb at fulfilling it's half of the equation - the rest is up to you." - Oswaldo Costa
"I came to T. Kang Taekwondo a little more than two years ago. I initially wanted to maintain my health, by exercising and stretching. Having studied martial arts prior to joining, I had an idea of what was expected of me and what to expect from a school. I was not disappointed. Grandmaster Kang provides a working environment that allows you to go for your maximum potential. The instructors are courteous, knowledgeable and patient. Three important ingredients when one is investing their time and money in a venture. And as always, whatever you put into anything, you will get that much out of it. Having already achieved one of my goals, I plan to continue my hard work and study of taekwondo. Master Tu, one of the fantastic instructors here, allows me to ask him specific, detailed, technical questions about forms and other aspects of taekwondo. And Sahbumnim Mirabella always reminds me before the cardio workout on Monday, 'It ain't a workout, it's a party.' Thank you Grandmaster Kang." - John C. Graves
"I sent my son Jordan to the holiday week camp and he absolutely loved it. On a daily basis he can't get up for school but he was up at 7am waiting to go to the TKT camp. He had so much fun with Sahbumnim Pascal that he did not want to come home and he even stayed for extra classes. It gave Jordan an opportunity to spend time with the kids in his class that he trains with and allows him to interact with them on a friendly basis. He enjoyed all the activities and overall it was a great experience for Jordan. He is looking forward with anticipation for the next week off so that he can attend the camp. I highly recommend the camp to anyone that would ask about it and let them know that it is a happy and more importantly, safe environment. Thank you." - Adam S.
